PowerhouseArts (PHA) is delighted to welcome Yayoi Shionoiri to the organization in thecapacity of VP of External Affairs and General Counsel.  In this role, Shionoiri will apply her passion,expertise, and creativity to cultivating and sustaining new partnerships,collaborations, and public programs that further the organization’s goals. Shionoiriwill provide strategic legal advice across PHA’s operations and help to leadthe organization’s efforts to generate engagement from various art worldstakeholders, including artists, galleries, and museums.

Shionoirijoins PHA at a unique moment in the institution’s development. PHA continues topioneer new and innovative programming to meet the needs of a dynamic andgrowing community of artists. Since opening to the public in spring of 2023,the organization has grown and evolved its ambitious programming to include:launching its PHA Patrons membership program, launching a Print Publishingprogram, exhibiting at EXPO Chicago, convening community partners at CommunityDay, and welcoming two fellow New York non-profits, The Alpha Workshops, andMGC Community Print Studio, to activate fabrication shops within the facility.These initiatives, in addition to the production of hundreds of artists’projects within its fabrication facilities, are core functions of its missionand commitment to creative expression.
